Come to find out that the Prius is not an Eco-friendly car at all-the zinc needed for the batteries are mines for in the wilderness of Canada and left the land devastated. There is also the recycling component of the battery which there is not a sure way and batteries are extremely toxic and hazardous-are we all saving our batteries and finding out exactly where to recycle them? Car companies like news papers are not moving with the times - there is a huge conscious movement going on and instead of responding to it they have been holding on the old ways of doing things. I think car production needs to stop altogether - we have millions of discarded cars and garbage that should be recycles into new cars - we don’t need anything new being manufactured on this small and gorgeous planet- we have produced enough junk and otherwise for the next 500 years. Give me a car made of recycled materials throw a solar panel on the roof and wow now we’re talking. Come on! Get with it! My husband is thrilled with our Bio-Diesel 1983 Mercedes we run on Kentucky Fried Chicken grease waste and although it feels good to NOT ever go to the gas station for it I do believe electric and solar and recycled is the way of the future for cars.
